Chris Kukla serves as the Senior Director of Legislative Affairs as well as the North Carolina State Director for SiX. In this capacity, Chris is the North Carolina State Director and manages our work in Florida, Maine, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Chris has over two decades of policy, political and organizing experience. Prior to SiX, Chris spent 15 years at the Center for Responsible Lending, a nonpartisan, non-profit policy and research organization dedicated to ending abusive lending practices, where he regularly counseled legislators, regulators and law enforcement agencies in North Carolina and across the country on consumer lending legislation, regulation and enforcement. Before that, Chris served as an advisor to U.S. Representatives Nita Lowey and Eddie Bernice Johnson. Chris received his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and his B.A. in Political Science and French from Alma College. Chris lives in Durham with his wife and two sons.
