This model discusses various components of complete streets laws and provides model language for legislative action on this topic. This model language defining various actors and agencies related to the implementation and enforcement of complete streets legislation, including vehicular transportation, various government agencies, and user groups targeted by complete streets legislation. This model also establishes an advisory board which is directed to oversee and make recommendations to the department of transportation regarding the implementation and development of state complete streets. This model also discusses other policy options related to complete streets, including municipal exceptions to these policies, effective implementation dates, and the advisory role of various government organizations. Lastly, this model provides recommendations and discusses legislative strategies for the development, passage, and implementation of complete streets legislation. This act requires, among other things an agent's duties acting with the power of attorney for an individual be clearly stated, including, among others, acting with good faith and according to the individual's expectations or best interests; and express language when an agent is hot powers. This act allows, among other things a third party to refuse to honor power of attorney when they demonstrate a good faith believe of abuse and requires that the third party make a report to adult protective services regarding the belief.Year: 2008•Type: Model Law•Source: AARP
This act prohibits a manufactured home community operator from requiring a resident to purchase equipment from a specific supplier; establishes a two-year lease, renewable indefinitely; clarifies consumer rights during eviction proceedings and strengthens judicial review provisions; prohibits a number of hidden fees; requires uniform enforcement of community rules; clarifies rights of residents to organize; establishes a relocation fund to assist residents of communities that are converting to a different use; strengthens consumer rights and disclosure rules in instances where community is sold to another entity.Year: 2004•Type: Model Law•Source: AARP
