Abou Amara serves as SiX’s Minnesota State Director. Prior to SiX, Abou was a public affairs strategist and consultant, working on a variety of civic initiatives and projects across the State of Minnesota. Most recently, he served as the co-chair for policy on Mayor Jacob Frey’s transition team, helping to ground the new administration’s policy agenda prior to his 2017 Inauguration. Prior to that, he worked as policy director for Neighborhoods Organizing for Change, as a senior policy and political advisor to then-Speaker of the House Paul Thissen in the Minnesota Legislature. His progressive campaign work includes various roles advising several issue based advocacy efforts in the Legislature as well. Abou is from Madison, Wisconsin and is currently a law student at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
