James Chan serves as the Florida State Director for SiX. Prior to SiX, James served as the Field & Advocacy Manager for the Florida 501c3 Civic Engagement Table (State Voices) and worked with statewide progressive partners to ensure that the voices of the New American Majority are heard in the democratic process. He has worked on a variety of issues during his time on the government affairs team at Target Corporation, and for former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink. He is a 2016 New Leaders Council Fellow from Tampa Bay, and currently serves as the Chapter Co-Director. He is also a graduate of Leadership Florida Connect Class VII, and College Leadership Florida Class XIII. James holds a Master in Public Policy from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and business administration from the University of Florida. James lives in Tampa, FL.
