As we watch the fight for commonsense gun safety legislation play out again in Washington, D.C., we are hopeful that, this time — with a tectonic shift in public opinion — they will find the courage to pass reform. As citizens and constituents, we were disappointed after the failure to pass any federal gun safety legislation after Sandy Hook. That inaction has become a pattern we’ve seen after Colorado, Arizona, Las Vegas, and the hundreds of cases of gun violence that haven taken place in communities all across our country.
