Affordability for All: An Agenda to Bring Down Costs for Working People
Again and again, voters say their top concern is the cost of living. Affordability has taken center stage as the defining issue in our politics.
Years of increasing corporate consolidation and governance favoring moneyed interests have fueled unsustainable cost increases for the basics, from bread to rent. And as the federal government raises tariffs and guts essential services, it is more urgent than ever that elected officials advance bold policy solutions to tackle the high cost of living.
We’re excited to announce that Local Progress Impact Lab, State Innovation Exchange, and the Groundwork Collaborative are launching our new policy agenda designed to do just that: Affordability for All: An Agenda to Bring Down Costs for Working People.
Affordability for All outlines ten bold progressive policy solutions across the areas of food, energy, healthcare and childcare, housing, and consumer pricing to bring down costs and tackle the corporate greed driving them up.
An affordability agenda, building worker power, raising workers’ wages, and tax justice are essential to tackling the economic crisis caused by corporate greed. State Innovation Exchange is here to support legislators towards building a better economy for all.
