Rapid Response Resources: Trump Unleashes Military on Americans
Over the weekend, President Trump, in an unprecedented act that circumvented the governor of California, ordered National Guard troops to occupy Los Angeles, deploying military force against brave Angelenos who dared to speak up for our neighbors and our freedoms. The Executive Order is far-reaching, impacting us all. Across the country, people are rising together to oppose ICE raids and protect our families from the MAGA regime’s escalating campaign of abductions and intimidation.
Messaging: Our partners at ASO Communications have released new guidance to craft your messaging, making it clear that this is another attempt by the Trump administration to turn our government into a weapon against its people. Take Action: On Friday afternoon, SiX partner and SEIU California and USWW President David Huerta was assaulted, injured, and detained by military-gear-clad ICE agents while advocating for immigrant workers. While he has been released from the hospital, he remains in federal custody. This is a clear attack on our communities, workers, and our First Amendment rights. Workers are rallying across the country in solidarity with each other, and in opposition to raids happening all over our country and tearing our communities apart.
