Tom Lenard is the Michigan State Director for SiX. Prior to SiX, Tom served for years as Senior Advisor to Senate Democratic Leader Jim Ananich of Flint, Michigan. As such, he worked to help respond to the Flint Water Crisis, and has lead efforts to address the opioid epidemic, scrap metal theft, and push for paid sick leave. Prior to serving multiple roles in the State Legislature, Tom worked in the Washington D.C. offices of Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut and John Dingell of Michigan. A graduate of Western Michigan University, he enjoys teaching his three young kids about Star Wars and hopes to help progressives adopt the philosophy of his beloved Oakland Raiders to “Just Win, Baby.”
