Micah Blaise brings over 15 years of grassroots organizing and progressive fundraising experience to her role as SiX's Senior Vice President of Development. Micah has organized abortion clinic defense in her home state of South Carolina; co-founded and directed an alternative-to-incarceration program for girls and trans youth; and worked as a special education teacher with a radical agenda in several Title I schools. Her work as a fundraiser is grounded in what she has learned from rooted, local movements for justice and liberation.
Prior to joining SiX, Micah was Senior Director of Development for Neighborhood Funders Group, an organization that mobilizes philanthropy to support movements led by working-class people and people of color. Prior to that, Micah was honored to serve as a lead fundraiser for the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Care in Action, where she helped support a talented cross-entity development team. Early in her career, Micah led the Resource Organizing team at Southerners on New Ground, where she helped launch SONG Power and served as a founding member of the Southern Power Fund. In addition to her work at SiX, Micah presently serves as a Senior Advisor at Left Align Consulting, as a volunteer for the Asheville Poverty Initiative, and as a mother to two small children.
